Our Policies

Enrollment Requirements:

All necessary enrollment forms must be completed and returned prior to admission. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure all forms are updated immediately upon changes and at least once a year. Upon arrival at the family child care program, the parent or adult dropping off the child, must escort the child into the home and ensure that the provider is aware of their presence.

*Permission to Administer Medication 

*Child's Authorization pick up

*Consent for Emergency treatment and transportation

*Photograph and Video consent sheet

Arrival:

• upon arrival, parents must sign in their child(ren) on the time sheet with the arrival time

• tell us how your child's night and morning went

• always say goodbye to your child during drop off, never sneak out without saying goodbye but do try to make it brief and reassure your child that you or another trusted person will be there for pick up at the end of the day

Departure:

• upon departure, parents must sign out their child(ren) with the time child is leaving

• please do not allow your child(ren) to run out to your car while you are still inside 

• Daily verbal and written reports

Absence

Please notify us if your child is going to be absent before 9:00am.

Discipline Policy

At no time will a child be subjected to physical punishment or shaming, frightening or humiliating methods be used, or any type of verbal abuse, threats, derogatory remarks, or deprivation of a meal or any part of a meal be used. 

Sick Policy 

For the protection of all the children in our care as well as the health of your own child and my family. I ask that parents assist me by keeping sick children at home for the following conditions:

• Fever 

• Diarrhea

• Vomiting

• New or unexplained rash or cough

• Children requiring  greater care and attention that can be provided without compromising the care of the other children in the program or

• Having or displaying any other illness or symptom the license holder or other care providers knows or believes may indicate that the child poses a health risk to persons on the program premises.

 If a child becomes sick while in care, parent will be contacted and If parent cannot be reached, the emergency contact person on the registration form will be reached out to and asked to pick up the child. The child will be removed from other children and cared for in a separate room where s/he will be made comfortable.

Administration of Medicine

Only Doctor's prescribed medication will be administered. Prescription medication must be in the original container with a prescription label on it.  This will only be administered with the completed parental consent form.

Snacks and Lunch

All children in our care are provided with a nutritious snacks in the morning and afternoon; healthy lunch is served.

Holidays

We are closed for all the following statutory holidays (NO fee decreases for statutory holidays): New Year's Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Heritage Day, Labor Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on a weekend, we will close the Friday before or Monday after. We will also be taking 3 weeks of paid vacation days, typically during the summer and winter  months.

Field trips and off-site activities

As part of a rich learning experience, field trips and off sites activities will be planned from time to time. Parents/Guardian will be notified in advance and are required to sign the consent forms for their child(ren) to attend.

Withdrawal/Termination Policy: If you are no longer needing care in our program, the parent or guardian must provide one full calendar month's written notice before the removal of your child.

Cleaning and Disinfecting

All surfaces and objects that are frequently touched will be routinely cleaned, sanitized and disinfected.

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed in my home at anytime and on the entire property as required by licensing. Please do not leave cigarettes' butts in the driveway or sidewalks.
